Diocese of Carlisle

Social Justice

Restore is a network of charity shops which serve their local communities.

It is our duty, as Christians, to reach out and offer support to the poorest and most marginalised in our society, and campaigning against injustice remains at the heart of our faith.

We're involved in a number of initiatives to help make a difference in the Cumbrian communities we serve - from the Restore charity shops which provide high-quality second hand goods and work opportunities to their local communities, through to the teams of Street Pastors who care for and listen to people who are out on the streets at night during the weekends. And alongside our ecumenical partners we're also involved in caring for the homeless and asylum seekers.

Our companion links with three dioceses - Stavanger, Zululand and Northern Argentina - continue to deepen our understanding of the needs of our brothers and sisters across the world. Click on the links below to find out more.
